Kingsway East Neighborhood

The Kingsway East Neighborhood is located east of North Kingshighway in the northwest part of the city of St Louis. The boundaries include Kingshighway on the west, Natural Bridge Avenue on the north, Marcus Avenue on the east and Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd on the south. Surrounding neighborhoods are Kingsway West to the west, the Fountain Park and Lewis Place neighborhoods to the south, the The Greater Ville to the east and the Penrose Neighborhood to the north.

The City of St. Louis maintains over 100 parks throughout the city and the Kingsway East Neighborhood has one of them, the W.C. Handy Park. Named for the American composer of the "St Louis Blues," William Christopher Handy, the park amenities that the residents of the neighborhood can enjoy in this 11+ acre park include four baseball fields, a playground, a 3/4 mile asphalt walking trail, four horseshoe pits, one full court basketball court and multi-purpose athletic fields.

The residents of the neighborhood are served by the St. Louis Public School District. Although the district does not have a school located within the neighborhood's boundaries at this time, there are schools located nearby. Sumner High School is in The Ville on Cottage Avenue. Ashland Elementary School is in the Penrose Neighborhood on North Newstead Avenue. In the Greater Ville Neighborhood is the Cote Brilliante Elementary, the Hickey Elementary and the Farragut Elementary schools.

The St. Louis Public Library system has one of its branches located nearby. The Julia Davis Branch Library is located on Natural Bridge Avenue in the Penrose Neighborhood.
